Recording calls by external device?

Postby tcu » Tue Dec 08, 2015 12:44 pm

I am investigating PBX systems for use in a simulation setting. The system will have no trunk lines and simply be from extension to extension. We have one specific need that I was wondering if Asterisk could do. We need to be able to output all conversations to a mixer for recording on another system. Does asterisk have this capability?

Somehow you must send the call to asterisk. Your pbx is based on asterisk or is a propretiary software/solution?

It can be easily done, For example using a Softphone, Chanspy and a PC. The conversation will be output to PC .Then you can use any third party hardware or software to record the live conversation.

This is just a basic Idea you could use also other methods
