Music on hold issue

Postby dashcomputers » Mon Jan 08, 2007 8:19 am

I am experiencing a problem with music on hold.

When I place a caller on hold the music is played for about 2 seconds only and then stops. Although the output on screen still states 'Started music on hold, class 'default', on SIP/2898365-081f6ad0' and it is only when I take the caller off hold do I get 'Stopped music on hold on SIP/2898365-081f6ad0' shown on screen.

I am using the wav files supplied with AsteriskNOW with the default settings.

does anybody have any ideas what is causing this as I have been surfing for hours but cannot find a solution.

The problem only arises when an incoming call is put on hold, outgoing calls placed on hold is working ok.

dash, the fact that MOH doesnt work made me think
it could have been a GUI error or user error.

But the fact that it works with outgoing but not incoming, can you please log this on under GUI(i think its a GUI error) with all the steps you took + configurations?

thanks man

I can't figure out how to get music on hold working.

From what I can work out, I go to "Voice Menus". I see "MusicOnHold" as an option under "Add a new step" but have no idea which corresponding value I should select.

Do these map to WAV files in a certain directory, and can I add my own?

How is this achieved? I have 5 MP3's that I want to use for on-hold, and they should play randomly.
