No Analog Line Hardware Installed

Postby dabigshiznizzle » Sun Jan 21, 2007 9:57 am

I have installed Asterisk 1.4.0-beta4 with no problems or errors. I ran through the wizard and got to the point of setting up service providers, but I can't set up any analog service providers. The wizard reports:

The following analog ports have been detected on your system
Analog(FXO) Port #1
Analog(FXO) Port #2
Analog(FXO) Port #3
Analog(FXO) Port #4

But when I try and provision an analog service provider the box tells me that there is no Analog Line Hardware Installed On This System.

So if I issue show zap status I get:
Wildcard TDM400P REV I Board 1

/etc/zaptel.conf
Code: Select all
loadzone = us
defaultzone = us
fxoks=1,2,3,4

So....anyhelp out there?[/code]

It appears as though you are running an old version of the gui. As it used to incorrectly represent what type of port you had installed.

you're configuration in /etc/zaptel.conf is correct. It's *signalling* is fxoks, but we all know that signalling is opposite of what the port is, so the port is FXS. This has been corrected in the GUI.

I assume you have green modules on your TDM card, which are FXS, therefor for ringing handsets, not POTS lines.

Make sense? :wink:

Yes this makes sense. So my question would be:

What is the current version of the GUI?
How would I go about upgrading?
or
How to fix this in the correct .conf file?

OK....I apologize for not reading on how to upgrade.

Upgrade complete.

Wizard Reports
Code: Select all
Step 1 of 7  - Verify Analog Ports
The following analog ports have been detected on your system
Analog(FXS) Port #1
Analog(FXS) Port #2
Analog(FXS) Port #3
Analog(FXS) Port #4

/etc/zapata.conf
Code: Select all
loadzone = us
defaultzone = us

fxoks=1,2,3,4

fxoks=1,2,3,4

fxoks=1,2,3,4

fxoks=1,2,3,4

fxoks=1,2,3,4

fxoks=1,2,3,4

But the add service provider screen still reports that no analog hardware is installed on the system.

Any other ideas?

Please run zapscan as root this should
update /etc/asterisk/zapscan.conf

Or you can run the setup wizard again from the options panel
The first page of the setup wizard automatically runs zapscan for you.

FXS ports cannot be used as a "service provider" as they are for ringing phones. If you had FXO modules installed you'd be able to use those for POTS lines to dial out. You'll have use a voip provider if you wish to call out from your system.
