AsteriskNow / Lync and Otuside SIP Trunk

Postby david.lundqvist » Wed Jun 20, 2012 12:49 am

Hi Guys,
I am evaluating AsteriskNOW for functionality of integrating sip with microsoft Lync.
I have not so much experience with Asterisk before,

Is here maybe a good blessed soul that maybe can help me out with the configuration.

I have managed to get the PBX running internally, its working fine to dial between two extensions, check the time with the PBX and connect to voicemails.

Thats about it.

Thanks in advance guys / girls

Hi Luffywallis,
Thanks for the good guides..

But when i have integrated Lync with AsteriskNOW like the article describes, must i not configure the asterisk with another sip trunk that can handle outside calls?

I have a SIP Trunk service at an external party that i need to connect to the ASterisk to allow calls from outside the company, correct?

Its like this.
External connection:
Calling Phonenumber -> SIP Trunk provider -> AsteriskNow -> Lync

In meetings
Calling Meeting phonenumber -> SIP Trunk provider -> AsteriskNow -> Lync

Is that correct, and if it is, how do i accomplish this :)?

i haven't tested this config, but i think that the first link which use skype as a third party provider can be used as a model.
so, in asterisknow, there must be a trunk between asterisk and lync, and another trunk between asterisk and the third party..and you must specify the dial plan on both asterisk and lync for external calls..

Hi Luffywallis,
I just wanted to tell you that we have gotten everything to work now.
We moved away from AsteriskNOW and installed a new fresh copy of Asterisk instead.

Thanks for your help :D
