'An operating system wasn't found' on first boot

Postby muffasa » Sat Apr 11, 2015 7:09 am

Hello,

this is my fist post I hope im not spamming or anything.
So here is my problem:
I wanted to get started with asterisk after viewing the Beginning Asterisk section on the wiki and seeing the video.
On the Installing AsteriskNow section I got stacked at the very beginning=\.
After downloading and burn the iso to USB flash drive and configured my target comp to boot via USB drive im getting this message:
"An operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drivers that don't contain an operating system."

on the bios I have canceled all the boot options accept from USB, when I disconnect the USB I get this message:
"No bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility
Press F5 to run on board diagnostics."

I tried all the USB plugs on the target comp, and I have tried to reburn the iso serval times on 3 different USBs. im using 64bit porecessor.

Im pretty frustrated getting into a problem at so early stage,
Any help would be greatly appreciate!

I would check to make sure that you burned the ISO to the USB stick properly. Are you able burn a stock centos 5.0 to the USB stick and boot on this computer?

If you're doing a USB install, there's a USB specific image:

see the .img files, rather than the .iso files.

I have tried everything you suggested, but aventually after hours I just went to buy a dvd, burn the iso on it and everything worked like a charm. apperently there was a problem with my usb hardware itself.

thanks for you help!
