SOLVED: no driver found when installing

Postby tonj » Wed Jun 24, 2015 12:31 pm

I'm running a host machine centos5.10 64bit with virtualbox-4.3 and I'm trying to install AsteriskNOW-612-current-64.iso as a guest machine but I'm getting this error:

'No driver found
Unable to find any devices of the type needed for this installation type.'
<snip>

after searching google I'm assuming this is the nic driver it's complaining about but the error message doesn't say what the hardware actually is....
is asterisknow based on centos? or some other distro?
Does anyone know what type of (virtualbox) nic I should be using?

CentOS.

A problem people have had is devices that don't identify as eth<n>.

ah yes thankyou david you were right. For anyone else who has this problem in a vm guest install this is the command that fixes it:

VBoxManage modifyvm <asterisk-vm> --nic1 bridged --bridgeadapter1 eth0
