When will the stable branch of AsteriskNOW be release? Is their a schedule?

No firm schedule set. We really want to focus on bringing the most reliable, easy to use, stable asterisk implementation possible. 1.4.0 will more than likely be available mid Q1.

Mid Q-1? Are we talking end of feb beginnning of april?

Maybe sooner, we are trying to coordinate the production release with adequate documentation and other projects

Thanks for you quick responses James. Looks like a may just have to install vanilla Asterisk ontop of a centos 4.4 machine.
