Choice between ASTERISK PLATFORM or SIP CLASS 5 solution

Postby coco9004 » Mon Aug 11, 2008 3:44 am

HI,

I want to know if with ASTERISK we can handle high traffic like 2000 to 10,000 subscribers for an ITSP company?

80% will be residential subscribers for monthly phone service.

My second choice is Class 5 carrier grade turn key solution:
Sylantro, Iperia, ACME
with Highdeal billing system
Cortex platform

Waiting your reply

Thank you,

Hi.

You should actually be comparing Like with like, You are comparing a IPPBX with a Switch.

The simple answer is on its own no it wont, You need Openser and use Asterisk as the PSTN gateway.

Like ian said very well, Asterisk is the "application server".

I bet it would handle that many registrations, but in a real world, you want Asterisk to do all your application side of things (voicemail, termination, queues, etc etc) and openser/switches for the pure routing.
