Sip reload doesn't work

Postby kamiquiroz » Mon Jun 17, 2013 2:51 pm

Hello

When I run sip reload in Asterisk CLI I got the following message
[2013-06-17 15:00:42] ERROR[2775]: netsock2.c:269 ast_sockaddr_resolve: getaddrinfo("dhcppc4", "(null)", ...): Name or service not known
[2013-06-17 15:00:42] WARNING[2775]: acl.c:833 resolve_first: Unable to lookup 'dhcppc4'

I have configured a sip.conf as follow
[general]
context=default
allowguest=no
udpbindaddr=0.0.0.0
tcpenable=no

[101]
callerid=Kami
username=101
type=friend
secret=test
host=dynamic
context=LocalSets
nat=no
qualify=yes
canreinvite=no
dtmfmode=auto
directmedia=no
disallow=all

and extensions.conf
[LocalSets]
exten => 101,1,Answer()
exten => 101,2,Dial(SIP/Kami)
exten => 101,3,Hangup()

thanks

Karen

That messages doesn't mean that sip reload isn't working, that means that your hostname can't be resolved, if you want to avoid that add your hostname with the local IP or localhost to /etc/hosts.

It looks like the host name is being allocated by DHCP, so he won't know the IP address. Really, for Asterisk, he should be configuring a static IP address, either directly, or by locking down the the DHCP address and host name.

In any case, he should have reverse DNS defined for all the DHCP generated names.

Thanks, I could resolve this issue like navaismo says, editing the file /etc/hosts and including the IP address with the hostname.
