Postby phamt » Fri Aug 22, 2014 9:37 am

Hello,

I’m in the process of setting up a SIP Server but do not know what OS and Asterisk versions that I need to go with. Any help would be appreciated.

You've posted on an AsteriskNOW forum. As AsteriskNOW contains both Asterisk and the OS, you don't get a choice.

If you had asked on Asterisk Support, http://www.asterisk.org/downloads says you should be using Asterisk 11.12.0. I believe that was tested mainly against CentOS 6, so you should use the latest full release of that.

Hi David,

Thanks for your reply. Do you know if Asterisk 11.2.0. on CentOS 6 is certified?

I missed a digit; I meant 11.12.0.

According to http://www.asterisk.org/downloads/aster ... k-versions the latest certified version is 11.6-cert4. I don't believe that versions are certified for specific OSes, but I do believe that CentOS 6 is the current development platform.
