Asterisk 1.8 interconnection with NEC PBX

Postby ultrasonic » Tue Sep 30, 2014 3:34 am

Hello,
This is maybe a problem on NEC PBX, however issue appears with Asterisk 1.8 while there is no problem with Asterisk 1.4.
Problem is that NEC PBX do not respond with ACK to OK sent by Asterisk 1.8. As a result, Asterisk drops the call.
NEC PBX is initiator of call (it send INVITE to Asterisk). NEC PBX responds with ACK to TRYING sent by Asterisk,
however, here is how OK sent by Asterisk looks like, and NEC PBX do not respond to it:

SIP/2.0 200 OK

Maybe someone had similar issue, and have suggestions what can be changed on NEC PBX or Asterisk side to resolve this. Thank you.

This is not specific to AsteriskNOW and it is a support question, not a general discussion topic.

It is illegal to sent ACK to Trying! The client is broken. (It is not even legal to send PRACK to 100 Trying.)

The fault may be in a proxy (including a router trying to be too clever).

We have the same issue here!

NEC PBX works ok with Asterisk 1.4, and does not work with Asterisk 1.8 at all.

Our guess that something is broken within Asterisk 1.8.

Anybody has a solution? We can offer a bounty for this problems resolution. PM me.

More likely, given that you say that the peer is sending an illegal ACK, is that 1.8 is less tolerant of protocol violations.

How to make it work with NEC PBX? Is there a way to disable something on the Asterisk 1.8 to tolerate NEC PBX packets?
