Recruiting and salary advice

Hi Guys

I work for a UK company who is reliant on our Asterisk based system for our Sales call center, but what we have was not designed for a Call Center operations and the suppliers frown upon customising it.

So I'm considering the possibility of recruiting somebody who can (possibly build) but definitely manage and customise an Asterisk system for us, but this person would need to fulfill a secondary role as a Network systems administrator.

Do these roles naturally co-exist?
Does anybody have any advise on recruiting for such a role?
What level salary should I expect to pay?

To answer your questions about the two roles naturally existing, I can say yes. My current position is that of a Network Systems Administrator and while I deal a lot with networking and system administration, one of the duties that I have is also building and managing the telecom systems. We have a mix of Asterisk 12, 11, 1.6, 1.2(I know!), HiPath 4000, and gold old ROLM serving SIP, Digital, and analog lines. Who better than your Network Admin to run it? It is a type of network after all ;)
