Unable to run "register" utility

Postby Trevor » Mon Apr 27, 2009 12:52 pm

When attempting to run the register utility, I receive the following error message:

Code: Select all
# ./register

Digium Product Registration - Version 3.0.3
Copyright (C) 2004-2007, Digium, Inc.
Use the '-l' option to see license information for software
included in this program.

Could not get categories from Digium.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Trevor Hammonds

Yes to both.

I read somewhere that register.digium.com is involved in this process. I am able to resolve register.digium.com to 216.207.245.3. However, I get no replies when I ping that address.

Has anyone encountering this problem been able to solve it yet? I can make https requests to other hosts so I know my firewall isn't blocking requests. And my dns is working just fine. But still I get the same error when trying to run the register tool:

[root@ast tmp]# register

Oh! To my big surprise its suddenly working. Haven't changed anything since my last tries. Must have been a temporary problem with a digium server or something...
