benchfax: No such file or directory

Postby kenpem » Sun Sep 20, 2009 6:28 am

Running Asterisk 1.6.2.0-rc1 on Ubuntu Linux 9.04 server edition. No GUIs, and a very simple configuration, one incoming sipgate line, a couple of extensions. All working reasonably well.

Trying to add fax capabilities now, have "purchased" a FFA licence, and I'm following the instructions at http://downloads.digium.com/pub/telephony/fax/README

I've got the license key registered and now I'm on step 2.3: "Run the benchfax tool". Here's where it gets weird.
console output wrote:> ./benchfax-1.0.8-x86_32
-bash: ./benchfax-1.0.8-x86_32: No such file or directory
> ls -all

benchfax will not run. I've done the chmod 500 and as you can see above it has the same permissions as register, which ran just fine. I'm logged in as root. This feels a lot more like a Linux problem than an Asterisk one, but for the life of me I can't figure it out. I even tried moving benchfax to /usr/sbin and that made no difference.

Somebody give me a clue?

random thought... WebMin identifies my system as
Linux 2.6.28-11-server on x86_64
It's that "64" that has me thinking... I saw somewhere in the FFA docs that only 32-bit it supported. Will it make any difference if I'm running on a 64-bit OS?

Have researched all over for this and can't find the answer. It feels like my benchfax executable is corrupt. But I've re-downloaded several times. Ideas, anyone?
