Faxes Fail when using .pdf

Postby ggomez » Fri Sep 27, 2013 5:41 pm

I am pretty new with Asterisk and I have a problem when sending faxes from (hylafax 4.3.9) I have 10 different documents all .PDF and only one of those files is successful when trying to send, the first thing that I thought was the PC, but sent the same 10 faxes with the same results from a different PC (let’s say document labeled CMN1.pdf) and the same document is successful no matter where I sent it from but the rest of the documents fail , it’s not the Adobe version because the successful one is the same version as some of the documents that fail, when I activate the trace asterisk –rvvvvv and when not successful it doesn’t display any error .

I would really appreciate any help you can give me.

This is likely to be a problem with ghostscript, or failing that, with Hylafax. It is unlikely to have anything to do with FFA. In fact, hylafax is the open source competitor to FFA, so it definitely has nothing to do with FFA.

The first thing to try would be running ghostscript on the document, e.g., if you have X running, run gs filename.pdf.
