Outgoing calls (Dialplan) in FreePBX configuration

Postby dtnu » Sun Aug 02, 2009 8:58 pm

I got the beta installed. User logs in and I can receive calls.
I am not that much of a fan of editing conf files by hand so I have been using FreePBX for a while.

I am stuck as to how to configure outgoing calls via FreePBX. Anyone can help?

I will do the manual editing if needed but I have no idea where this would be done on an asterisk install that has FreePBX on it.

Any help will be appreciated.

You'll probably want to ask at freepbx for support on their own gui...

Heres a comparison that might help with using its gui
regular sip calls

with this skype thing

Thanks for the reply.

I didn't find anywhere to put the dial plan in that format.

I'll see if there the FreePBX guys can help

Also, if you are doing Dial(Skype/someuser) you need to make sure that you have default_user set in chan_skype.conf. Otherwise you will need to do Dial(Skype/from_account@someuser) with from_account being whatever account you have set up that you want to dial from.

You can either put the dial plan logic in extensions_custom.conf
Code: Select all
exten => 121,1,Dial(Skype/skypename)         ; extensions can dial 121 to get to skypename
exten => 121,2,Hangup()

This is usually included in the dial plan if you want something complicated
or else make a custom extension Other (custom) device
and put this in the dial string
