Gotcha - look out for

Postby david_s5 » Sun Aug 09, 2009 1:37 am

Well it works but there are some non Digium Gotchas to look out for.

I was silly to think $36 a year would buy unlimited calling....silly boy...it cost me a day, $20 and a lost SkypeIn number to figure this all out....

Help David recover  - Donate via PayPal to david_s5 (at) usa (dot) net

1) Only users Created in the BCP (Not invited, not even the account that signed up for the BCP in the first place) can Log in from chan_skype.

2) Creating the BCP - If you have a skype account that has used Paypal to do purchases use that account to sign up for Skype BCP. - If not you will be stuck in getting failed Transaction messages because:

Note; that in order to use this PayPal account to fund a Skype for Business account you need to be logged in with the username the PayPal account is linked to.

and

In this instance your payment failed because you can only associate your PayPal account with one Skype account.

3) For Skype Credits in the BCP - Do not buy credits in the normal Skype account that signed up for the BCP. Login into the BCP FIRST.

4) If you transfer a SkypeIn number to the BCP you can not then assign it back to a user that donated it. (was invited to the BCP) Even in the BCP, the number can not be assigned back to the donating user and that user can not be logged from chan_skype. It can only be passed from Created user to Created user!

5) The BCP will let you buy a subscription for a BCP memeber - BUT IT WILL NOT WORK with chan_skype.

Here's a quick reminder that Skype's subscriptions are for individual use only and do not include calling from or through multi-user devices such as PBXs - as stated in our Fair Use Policy- ...... Any members of your Business Control Panel who call landlines or mobiles from such devices will be charged at our standard call rates- .... However, they can still benefit from their subscription when calling directly from the Skype software or a stand-alone Skype-enabled device.
