PAE or not PAE

Postby jordixip2 » Sat Dec 27, 2014 10:12 am

I'm starting with asterisk, and when I start my virtual machine, in virtualbox, it shows a message that It couldn't start because I've got not pae cpu.

What could I do? What .iso I could download to try it?

Did you fire up a 32-bit virtual box instance and try to load a 64-bit ISO, or vice-versa (32-bit on 64-bit)?

If AsteriskNOW is based on a current version of 32 bit CentOS, it will have a PAE kernel, as CentOS no longer has non-PAE kernels. I don't know whether PAE kernels fail degraded, but they might still probe for PAE in a way that makes the VM host think they need PAE, even if they do fail degraded.
